about
Finding myself completely bunt out at the age of 41 after decades of chronic health issues, and finally, addiction. I needed to find a way to live at peace with myself, away from the crazy motion of the last decades. I have at last found the inner peace I was always searching for in the fellowship of recovery. So Slowly is an expression of my inner journey.
lyrics
So Slowly
So slowly,
Come out from under the covers,
Put one foot in front of the other,
And step outside,
Step outside,
Step outside.
If you’re lonely,
Reach out to your sisters and brothers,
We’ve got to look out for each other
And be more kind,
Be more kind,
Be more kind.
Move more slowly,
You’ve always been too fast.
Move more slowly,
And try to make each precious moment last.
You can never have enough,
Of what you do not need
And I don’t need much.
Just a gentle touch.
If you’re broken,
And you cannot put yourself back together,
Flock with birds of a feather,
You will find,
You just need time,
You just need time.
If you ask me,
How I see myself in the future?
Will I live in winter or summer?
I don’t mind,
I don’t mind,
I don’t mind.
Move more slowly,
You’ve always been too fast.
Move more slowly,
And try to make each precious moment last.
You can never have enough,
Of what you do not need
And I don’t need much.
Just a gentle touch.
How you going to go?
One step at a time.
How you going to be?
I’ll try to be more kind.
